CS: GO And Team Fortress 2 Source Code Leaked, Valve: Don’t Panic
SteamDB released news that Valve’s game “CS: GO” and “Team Fortress 2” source code was leaked. And source code leaks mean hackers can quickly develop plug-ins to attack the game’s computers. Many players are also concerned about many cheats and exploits, including serious security risks such as remote code execution.
But Valve said not to worry. “We have reviewed the leaked code and consider this to be another leak of the limited CS: GO engine codebase,” said a Valve representative.
“The codebase was released to partners in late 2017 and was initially leaked in 2018. As a result of this review, we did not find any reason to make players wary or avoid using the current version (official servers are recommended). We will continue investigating, and the players have nothing to worry about.”
Today some Team Fortress 2 community servers have been suspended by Creators.TF and Red Sun, pending details on the scope of the leak.
